Simferopol International Airport

Simferopol International Airport (Russian: Международный аэропорт "Симферополь", Mezhdunarodnyy aeroport "Simferopol’"; Ukrainian: Міжнародний аеропорт "Сімферополь", Mizhnarodnyy aeroport "Simferopol’"; Crimean Tatar: Aqmescit Halqara Ava Limanı), Акъмесджит Халкъара Ава Лиманы; (IATA: SIP, ICAO: UKFF) (Russian AIP: URFF, УРФФ ) is an international airport in Simferopol in Crimea. The old, currently defunct, the airport was located 12 km to the north-west from the city centre in Aeroflotsky Village. The new terminal, which has been functioning since April 16, 2018, is situated 2,5 km further to the north-west in Ukromnoe Village.

Since March 2014, the airport service only Russian flights. Other official international flights are not in operation due to sanctions imposed after the Crimea-Russia reunion and the disputable legal status of the peninsula. In the Russian Federation, the airport has the name of Simferopol International Airport named I.K. Aivazovsky.

In 2018, the airport service 5,15 mln passengers. Thus, it takes the 8th place among Russian airports or the 2nd place among Ukrainian airports.
