Scenic Whale Watching Tour to Hermanus
Travel along the 85km coastline with us, as we scout the awesome Bays for Southern Right Whales and Dolphins, en route to Hermanus. September to the beginning of December presents a unique opportunity for an excursion to one of the top land based Southern Right Whale watching locations in the world namely, Hermanus. Although sightings cannot be guaranteed the drive along the False Bay Coastline through the towns of Betty\'s Bay, Kleinmond and Hawston is nevertheless memorable one with many photograph opportunities. We take no shortcuts as we return again along the 85km coastline to maximise the chances of whale sightings and scenery.

SOUTHERN RIGHT WHALES can be found in very shallow water including estuaries and bays. They have even been known to swim into the surf zone, but are not known to strand. If you are lucky enough, you may even delight in watching the mothers and calves playing together. This is a very important time for the calf, as the mother is teaching its young the life skills it will need before it returns to the Antarctic.

7:30am:
You will be collected from your centrally located Cape Town accommodation at approximately. From there you will travel along the N2 highway towards the Gordons\' Bay coastline. The coastline offers good opportunities for photographs and whale watching.
8:45am: We visit the African \"Jackass\" Penguin Colony in Betty\'s Bay.

  1. It\'s a great place to see the Penguins in their natural environment.
  2. The entry fee is R10 per person (subject to change)
  3. This is also a great place for a toilet break, stretch the legs and grab a cup of coffee
9:30am: We will then travel through Betty\'s Bay and the coastal town of Kleinmond to Hermanus

10:30am: Arrive in the coastal town of Hermanus 
  1. We Drive along it\'s coastline looking for the best sightings of Southern Right Whales.
  2. The Cows visit the bay annually to calf.
12:30pm: Time to take a lunch break at one of the many little restaurants, dotted along the coastline, overlooking the huge bay area

3:00pm: After lunch we make our way, along the 85km coastline, to the city. Continue to search the coastline for the Southern right whales on the way back. You will arrive back in Cape Town at approximately 5:30pm.
