Downtown Portland and Pearl District Walking Food Tour
Taste your way through Portland’s bustling downtown and artsy Pearl District on a food tour with a local guide. You’ll visit both established favorites and trendy food carts to sample a variety of dishes, from Cuban sandwiches to seasonal soups to a salted caramel bar, washed down with regional craft beer and Oregon wine, of course. As you walk, learn about the area’s history and current culture from your insider guide. This food tour is limited to 12 people, ensuring you enjoy a small-group experience.

Your food walking tour of downtown Portland and the Pearl District begins at Brasserie Montmartre, a French-American restaurant in the historic Calumet building, where you’ll meet your guide and start your culinary adventure with something like a chef’s-choice salad with seasonal produce.

Continue your tour with your guide, stopping at some of the most popular restaurants and food trucks in the neighborhood. Exact itineraries vary slightly each day, but you can expect an array of food and drinks enjoyed at locations that show you the wide range of Portland’s culinary scene, from upscale eateries to casual classics to sweet shops. You may try food from the country of Georgia, a Mexican dish that only uses ingredients from local farmers markets, handmade dumplings, a Vietnamese sandwich (bahn mi) paired with a microbrew, single-origin chocolate, a glass of Oregon wine or a whoopie pie.

In between stops, pass by local attractions and hear from your guide about the area’s history, including how the Pearl District evolved from a warehouse quarter to one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods. Your tour ends at Petunia\'s Pies & Pastries, a bakery that serves up desserts so wonderful, you’d never know they are vegan and gluten free!

Total walking distance on this tour is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) and takes place on flat terrain.

Your food tour makes six stops, which may include the following (subject to change):

  • Brasserie Montmarte
  • Lardo
  • Kargi Gogo
  • Savor Soup House food cart
  • Verde Cocina
  • Cacao
  • Petunia\'s Pies & Pastries
