Private excursion with a private car and English speaking driver (no guide, service and entrance fees).

Departure from your hotel on Lake Garda to visit VeronaVerona was taken over by the Roman Empire in the First Century AD and many Roman-era ruins have been preserved, notably the Arena (which is in the same style as Rome\'s Colisseum). Most of the historical sights, however, date from the past 800 years.

Verona offers a golden opportunity to see the transition of Western European art from late-Medieval to early-Renaissance styles, with its rich offering of 12-Century churches and art museums. It is also known as the town of Love thanks to the story of Romeo and Juliet. Your walking tour of Verona begins; the Arena, an enormous, spectacular Roman amphitheatre, crumbling on the outside but still functioning today. Erected in the 1st Century AD in an elliptical shape it is the world\'s third-largest amphitheater to survive from antiquity. The famous opera season is held here from June to September. Another famous theater of Verona is Teatro Vecchio. Also admire the antique Piazza dei Signori (Square of Lords), Piazza Erbe (Square of Herbs), home of the Forum in Roman times this is still a focal point of the city. Contains the \'Britney Verona\' fountain, 14th century \'Gardello Tower\', and a picturesque market. Castelvecchio, a 14th-century, red brick, fortified castle on the banks of the river Adige. The Castelvecchio has an adjoining bridge over the river which is open all the time - walk over the bridge for some fantastic views of the castle on the river. You can?t miss out Juliet\'s House (Casa di Giulietta), Via Cappello (just off the Piazza delle Erbe). Supposedly the location of the famous balcony love scene from Shakespeare\'s Romeo and Juliet. The house is a major destination for tourist pilgrimage, as the tiny courtyard is normally packed with lovestruck teenagers photographing each other on the famous balcony.

Verona is also a city full of magnificent churches that you can visit such as Chiesa di Sant?Anastasia, Basilica di San Zeno, Duomo and Battistero, San Fermo and many others. Free time for lunch. Finish the day with some shopping in the exciting Via Mazzini.
