Enjoy Tivoli’s famous tourist attractions: the breathtaking gardens of Villa d’Este and the ancient ruins of Hadrian’s Villa, known as the Villa Adriana.

You will be picked up at the dock by your private driver in Civitavecchia, from where you\'ll be driven to the ancient town of Tivoli which is about 30 mins from Rome borders; the journey from Civitavecchia is nearly 130 km per way. During the journey you will me your private official guide which will lear you to discover this enchanting hidden gem: Tivoli. At the foot of the Tiburtini hills, it dominate the vast quarries of travertine marble and host to the springs, bringing the sulfurous waters to the well known spa town of Tivoli.

Our first stop will be Villa Adriana (Hadrian\'s Villa) which is an exceptional complex of classical buildings created in the 2nd century A.D. by the Roman emperor Hadrian. The ruins can only hint at the grandeur and beauty of this villa which the emperor Hadrian had built as a souvenir of the monuments and sites he had admired during his travels in the East. It combines the best elements of the architectural heritage of Egypt, Greece and Rome in the form of an \'ideal city\'. The Villa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and important cultural and archaeological site.
The villa was the greatest Roman example of an Alexandrian garden, recreating a sacred landscape. The complex included palaces, several thermae, theatre, temples, libraries, state rooms, and quarters for courtiers, praetorians, and slaves.

After a short lunch break in the lovely Tivoli historical centre or a genuine gelato cup maybe (not included in price) we then continue to Villa D\'Este, one of the most beautiful residences of the Renaissance. Listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, it is a fine example of Renaissance architecture and the Italian Renaissance garden. The Villa\'s countless fountains, set in the heart of magnificent Italian style gardens, create a delightfully graceful symphony of carved stone, shade, sunlight and water.

Drawing inspiration (and many statues and much of the marble used for construction) from the nearby Villa Adriana, the palatial retreat of Emperor Hadrian, and reviving Roman techniques of hydraulic engineering to supply water to a sequence of fountains, the cardinal created a fantasy garden. Its architectural elements and water features had an enormous influence on European landscape design. The tour in Tivoli finishes at 3,30 pm; then sit back and enjoy a cozy return to the dock at Civitavecchia port.
